Wake the Pool 2010

The first competition of the year was held last weekend at the Beach & Boat Fair in Leipzig, Germany. Not only was it the first contest of the year but also the first official indoor-event using a "BRO in the Box" 2 Tower system by Rixen. The 2 Tower System is the mobile "Little BRO" of the 5 Tower System where up than 14 persons, pulled by an electrik engine, are able to ride at the syme time.
By the way, BRO means Bruno Rixen Original. He is the Iventer of cables.
Nearly 100 Wakeboarder and Wakeskater from Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Great Britain came together to celebrate our sport in front of a huge audience.
The Qualification were packed with lots of riders which resulted in having only one run - same for the LCQ's.
In the finals the rider had two runs both challanging the rider with a Funbox and on the way back a Kicker.

Here one more nice competition video from Florian Mueller for PlanB:

Here's a short video of Sebastian Thums, the lucky winner of this event.

Big names like Bernhardt Hinterberger, Daniel Fetz and Maxine Sapulette came to Leipzig for this special event but didn't made it on the podium. The large number of rider and the limited amount of tricks made up some surprises in the results. Winner of this weekend were Sebastian Thums (GER) and Sophy Cordery (GB) for Wakeboard and Dominik Preisner (GER) won the Wakeskate division.

Organizing such an event was a tough task - thanks to the Leipzig fair, Rixen, Obstixx and PlanB Media for taking the risk and giving us a special start into the season.

Thanks to Rolf Parree for the pictures.

Here a nice video from Peter "Moeterbank" from Augsburg

Thanks a lot!
