World Trophy & European Championships 2010
100.000 US Dollar Cash Prize at the IWWF Izmit Open 2010
Hello everyone, the time has come…
After last year's success the World Trophy 2010 will be held in Izmit, Turkey near Istanbul. The Izmit Open will feature 2 top-notch competitions from September 16 - 19. In addition to the World Trophy with 100.000 $ prize money, wakeboarders and wakeskaters will have the chance to fight for the title of European Champion 2010.
All results, meaning important ranking points, will feed the IWWF World Ranking. So there are at least 3 reasons for the cream of the crop to take part at this Wakeboard happening. Another reason will be the most important thing as always: the fun.
The whole ID+MA crew as well as our beloved Clint Liddy are looking forward to welcome you in Izmit.
Last year's World Trophy was won by nobody less than Tom Fooshee (USA) and Maxine Sapulette (NED). We are eagerly awaiting who it's going to be this year to take home the first place's 10.000 $ and especially from which continent the winner will come from. Maybe we will even see some Asians. Everyone is waiting for Koera or Thailand to finally face the competition from the western hemisphere. We will see.
Eligible for the World Trophy is every licenced rider in the categories Junior and Open, so we can expect riders from all around the world. If you don't have any contact to your national federation, just register on cablewakeboard.net and send us an email. We will get in touch with you and help you with your registration.
All European riders that want to take part at both the European Championships and the World Trophy you need to register for twice for both competitions.
For the second time around, the wakeskater will have their 2nd European Championships. In 2009 wakeskating impressed everyone and the skaters appreciated the fact that they had their first official championships. We are looking forward to this year's championships and are hoping for even more nations sending their best wakeskaters.
Unfortunately the wakeskaters didn't have their first world championships this year. 10 nations are required to get this offical title, 7 nations will be required to have the European Championships.
The first bulletin for both the E&A Championships and the World Trophy is ready for you to download. Some things are still missing but it covers the most important points. As soon as we have more detailed information it will be published here on cablewakeboard.net and of course in the 2nd bulletin.
Istanbul and its airport are just around the corner, shuttles will be organised and there will be a special contact for you and your room bookings coming soon.
That's it for the first round of information on the Izmit Open. Stay tuned for more details.
See you soon...
