Spring into the Season Press Release

On Sunday JBSki hosted the first competition of the season and despite the cold wind the April weather was fairly good. 40 riders turned up to compete for international ranking points, a spot on Team GB and to catch up with old friends and have a good time.

In the Open Categories we saw some good competition with some new faces. National Champions Steph Caller and Declan Clifford both fended off the competition and took home the Golds, each winning 200 international ranking points for their efforts.  The silver medals went to Alexis Balladon and Tom Watson with strong runs that forced our champions to show us what they were made of. Emily Heffernan and Richard Phillips took the Bronze medals with strong performances.

We saw strong competition in every single men’s category from Mini Boys right up to Veteran Men. The youngest competitor and local rider Kieran Owens (9 years old) took the top spot in Mini Boys. That kid can ride and we look forward watching him and his fellow competitors in years to come!

In the Boys, Scott Rosewell managed to fend off Ryan Peacock (Second) and harry Eames (Third). The boys category has been very competitive in recent years and this competition was no exception.

Princes rider Cain Hamilton took the gold in Junior Men with a run that would have challenged a lot of Open Men. The second spot went to JBSki Rider Jack Battleday who managed to fend off Dutch rider Daniel Rutten who took third.

In Junior Ladies WakeMK rider Chloe Goudie took the gold with strong competition from Laura Christian and Lottie Harbottle who took silver and bronze respectively and are young enough to ride in the Girls category!

In the Masters category Keith Hooks took the gold and Paul Peacock took the gold in Veterans.
