RIDERS REPRESENTIVE GOALS FOR THE NEXT 2 YEARS
A WORD FROM OUR RE-ELECTED RIDERS REPRESENTTIVE, DANIEL FETZ:
Hi Everybody!
Since my first day on the Wakeboard Council my focus has been to improve the judging system. I wanted to make it more transparent, help riders prepare better and make it more interesting for spectators and media.
Together with Aaron Armborst the E&A Secretary and 6 Star Judge we invented a completely new Judging System (AF Judging), were the Judges just have to give Impression (Style, Height, etc...) scores on every single Trick (from 1-10pts) and the technical difficulty & composition which is the other 50 % of the score is done automatically by an algorithm program. So that means a judge still has the power to score a 100pt trick down to 50pts, so there is still quality about quantity. But up front every rider is clear about questions like, what counts more? For example: Raley vs Backroll, Frontflip vs S-Bend, KGB vs Mobe, hs bs 720 vs hs fs 720, 450 transfer vs 270 in reverse 270 out, etc...
My goals for the next 2 years are:
1. 2015 testing via shadow judging the new AF Judging System on the Europeans and a view selected 4 Star Events
2. 2016 running the Worlds, Europeans and maybe a view 4 Star events with the new "AF Judging System"
3. Having much more riding & practice time for competitors on big full week comps, like worlds or Europeans.
It would be great to include everyday riding in the morning and evening for 2-3 hrs. The best would be to just have the big title events in locations where two cableways are installed.
4. To organize or make it mandatory to have short best trick cash prize events for all finalists after a title event. It would be a great bonus for the riders.
Thanks for your trust & keep on riding and having fun
